    Kabelvision, the Sucky Cable Provider

    March 15th, 2007

This is another rant. Unfortunately we are living in a country that makes us capable of producing more rants than compliments in a year. And today, I just had it.

This afternoon, our internet connection was dead again, that is like the tenth time for the past two weeks. Either it’s an afternoon or midnight downtime. I don’t give a crap about it, cable networks are not supposed to be dead during office hours. But here we are facing the loss of connection when we need them for work.

Logically speaking, how is it possible for them to not knowing that their network is down? Well, apparently, that’s the case when I phoned the so-called customer service earlier on. If we talk about good service, Indonesia is probably the last place on earth you want to look for. Nobody here seems to give a shit on the word “Service”. As long as you pay the goddamned bills, you get the to use the facility, with no trust-worthy services whatsoever. Indonesia is the country famous for making everything into money with no aftersales service. Face it. That’s the truth.

And with the monopoly of Kabelvision, as the only cable network provider in our neighborhood, they can just cap the bandwidth to 64K, thus what Indonesians call “broadband”. Well, broadband my ass, when Lippo hands is in the company, rest assured that the company will surely be no brighter than a Neanderthal. We can see the proof of this going on in real life, UPH for example, too much filthy birocracies, plus those Christian indoctrinations that I myself, a Christian, doesn’t like. Next sample, LippoShop, it’s busted. Next sample, Kabelvision, read my post above. Next sample, LinkNet, just look at their website, it doesn’t even look qualified to be an ISP. Oh well, when you’re rich, nobody simply can’t do anything to you, right? Only in Indonesia.
