My sister has been asking me to get an undergraduate prospectus of my campus for ages now. And in fact, I did take the damn thing today. It was located at the new students admission center at building D. So yes, it was quite an irritating walk.

The undergraduate prospectus features a set of booklet and video CD, all packed into one envelope, all in the same colors and theme. The design was okay, it’s not bad, and it’s not anywhere near outstanding either, so it was okay. I would judge the print quality to be a few steps below of what I expected from a multi-million dollar campus that we studied in. The choice of paper was fairly cheesy so that it looked too shiny that it’s not exclusive anymore. The photos are also bad, it has bad color corrections, bad angles, everything. I would say that they just don’t conform to “good” standards.

Anyway, bad prospectus design aside, I put the VCD in and played it. I don’t usually get this curious with stuff concerning my campus, and yet something really got me struck by lightning…

Imagine this, it’s a undergraduate prospectus profile VCD. What does it do? Well, first of all it should promote UPH as good as it can so students are attracted, and really, they did promote it. But the thing is, what were they thinking when they put “Smack My Bitch Up” and “Firestarter” from the Prodigy as the background music?!?!?! For God’s sake, this is a university profile, and I don’t think that’s legal anyway!
